Tom Vadnais Fine Art Photography biography

Tom Vadnais taking a photo A consulting automotive engineer by day, I first learned about landscape photography by taking a workshop in the Fall of 1999 with the late Galen Rowell. Even though I was greatly inspired, I unfortunately didn't do too much with it until after I switched to digital in Autumn 2001. It was then that I started taking numerous additional photography and Photoshop workshops, seminars, and classes with some of the most respected names in the business. They include, in alphabetical order:

  • Bill Atkinson
  • John Paul Caponigro
  • Willard Clay
  • Charlie Cramer
  • Bruce Dale
  • Jack Dykinga
  • Thom Hogan
  • Bill Lea
  • Moose Peterson
  • Michael Reichmann
  • John Shaw
  • Vincent Versace
  • Charlie Waite

Twice a year, I teach photography and Photoshop in workshops in the Smokies with Willard Clay (Fall) and Bill Lea (Spring). In addition to those, I again taught with Lori Kincaid in a Spring workshop in the Max Patch area of the Appalachians. I have also judged photography competitions, and have given many photography and Photoshop talks, workshops, and classes for various clubs and groups around the country. I was President of the Roswell Photographic Society (RPS) in Roswell, GA, for two years, and on the RPS Board for four years, I am a founding member of the North Georgia Camera Club Council (NGCCC), where I am currently on the Board as Director of Education. I am also on the Board of the Georgia Nature Photography Association (GNPA), where I am Chairman of Education & Workshops. In 2005, 2006, 2008, and 2010, I helped British landscape photography master Charlie Waite put on his Master Class workshops in the US. We are currently working on a fifth Master Class for 2011.

I have been fortunate enough to win numerous awards, and have sold images in a number of shows and galleries. For several years, White Sands National Monument has been selling my images in their museum store.
